Looking for a Wine Tour & accidentally discovering a whole new Italian Town - Chiusi , Story by Varun Chaudhary
Chiusi in Chianciano Terme is the living breathing example of how history is loved and restored, not just in architecture, but also in stories, in food, and offcourse the wine.
Chiusi in Italian means closed, but in no way would you feel that when you step in this magical town in the famed Tuscany region. Part of the Tuscany region, the town prides itself on community, traces of Etruscan civilization and its Pici (homemade spaghetti)
We discovered this town by chance on a search for a wine tour, we ended up here for three days in the midst of an annual wine festival. The Festa Dell'uva e del Vino.
and while probably being the only Indians roaming this magical place, we discovered a part of India too. The place will surprise you, amaze you and take you beyond the usual tourist experience.
For us, the real Italy lies in its many towns. If you are the one to go beyond the beaten track, explore Chiusi on your next trip, and yes, while discovering the town do make way to the lake and the thermal baths, that's an experience in itself.
Hope This helps in Planning Your next trip to this beautiful and not so Touristy Town of Italy
