Came here for dinner one night as it was close to my hotel and it came so highly recommended on TA. The restaurant is up 3 flights of steep steps and I thought to myself, this better be good for all this climbing. Inside, it’s decorated like a cheap restaurant with plastic chairs and tables you’d see in street stalls, and about as hygienic. There a simple two sided menu with plenty of vegetarian options. I ended up ordering plain rice and Tarka Dal. It’s a simple, but tasty dish with pulses that I’ve had many times before. The dal could’ve been soup, such was the barely present pulses. The rice was warm and cooled down fast, so I ended up having to really mixture the rice and dal to keep the meal from getting too cold. After finishing the meal and walking back down the stairs, I happened to see the kitchen and it was not a pretty sight. Honestly, I don’t know what all the fuss was about and the hygiene of the place left a lot to be desired.
