The Ghanta Ghar is the clock tower of Udaipur. When it was built in 1887, it was the first public clock tower of the city. I would describe the architecture as Solanki if only because of the roof projections and recesses. Currently the tower is undergoing renovations, but you can still see enough of it. Worth a quick look if in the area, especially as the tower is in the main tourist circuit of Udaipur, otherwise I wouldn’t go out of the way to see it.

It looks magnificent at night with the lighting. It's just couple of minutes walk from Hathipole which in old city of Udaipur. I wished the surrounding place was well maintained. There's a police chowki besides, a garbage dump besides, so you can really admire it from 2 sides. Hope our monuments are well cared for future generations to see.
