At 36 metres above ground, the Henderson Waves bridge is the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore. Unveiled in 2008, its fantastical shape has lent an unexpected jolt of design savvy to the lush green belt in the south of Singapore. Undulating wave Henderson Waves is anchored by steel arches and filled in with curved slats of Balau wood True to its name, the bridge mimics the undulating shape of a wave, curving and twisting along its entire 274-metre length. Its form is anchored by steel arches and filled in with curved ‘ribs’—slats of Balau wood, a dense hardwood used in heavy construction which is found only in Southeast Asia. The bridge’s shape allows it to have hidden recesses and shell-like niches, where pedestrians can sit and observe their surroundings. Because there’s privacy and room to rest, the bridge is a popular spot on weekends with couples, joggers and families with children. As dusk falls, visitors linger to admire the bridge, which is illuminated to stunning effect by light-emitting diode (LED) lighting from 7pm to 7am every night.

It's a nice, quiet place to spend your evening with your beloved with a glass of wine or just lie down and relax. But don't forget to carry an umbrella. There is no shelter to protect you from the unexpected Singapore rains! Also be ready to climb quite a number of steps!

One of the best places for Singapore’s amalgamation of nature and concrete as well as innovation and beautiful visually. Good for all times of the day and all types of weathers. I visited recently on a rainy day and it still fails to dissolve. It’s also part of the Southern ridges trail good for hike, jogging and other exercise and has parks on both side. The architecture, bird eye view of the park and forest as well as the sea.

Another great place for walk. The bridge has breathtaking views and it’s very relaxing when you’re up there. Do take the time to enjoy the panoramic views.

Good fun for a walk. No shade so rather hot. Walked over Henderson wave bridge into mount Faber park which was cool. Great walks and good views. Good sign posts. Bridge may be a little off putting if you’re worried about heights!

Fun and easy walk that leads you towards the southern ridges if you’re up for it! Steps were tiring at the start but after that all is great!
