Set in the French Quarters of Pondy at the sea-facing Promenade Hotel by Hidesign, what stands out is the bar's Wall Of Stories which is filled with memorabilia, props, books, and anecdotes from travellers and locals. Bar - Finger Food, Continental. Approx cost for two people Rs 1,500 with alcohol.

Loved this place. Staff were polite and friendly. Food is a bit expensive over the weekends, for the quantity they serve. They maintain two menus, one for weekdays and one for the weekend, with hiked up prices. Fish fingers in a regular menu costs you Rs.300 but in a weekend menu it is Rs.595. But loved the taste and presentation though. Thumbs-up for the ambience and music

We went there at 6 pm, and were informed by the reception that it will open at 7pm. We waited for 1 hour and then the guy standing at the entrance said it will open at 7.30pm. So eventually we had to go back at the beach to spend time. Now, the truth about the Storyteller: Beck's Ice pint, MRP 55, Sticker price 69, Storyteller price 250. Very few options for food as well as alcohol. Moreover, you have to pay first for everything and then have it. This is the first restro-bar I have seen wherein people came sat for maximum 5 minutes and then left. Its better to enjoy the beach and go to a liquor shop and buy thrice the quantity of alcohol at same price and enjoy in your room. Rest its your money and your choice. Enjoy!!

Good place to chill out with friends, they organize live music on weekends mostly, which is good. Food is also fine.

The place and the Ambience is good, however, the timings mentioned on Google are not accurate for a sunday. I visited the restro-bar at 5.50 pm on Sunday, and i was told that it would open at 7 pm. When i came back to the place at 7 pm, the Promenade Hotel staff said that it is now open, however, the StoryTeller Manager right away denied us entry and said that we do not open for another 30 minutes. The place offers dining, however, for every drink or dish that you order you need to walk up to the counter and pay upfront. The DJ of the night, was below standard. The staff was in a Hurry, to clean the table, and once even picked up my friend's bottle which even had beer in it (my friend was yet to drink). The items on the menu are far too less for the liking, and way too priced to the liking, for somebody visitng Puducherry. A pint of Beck-Ice Beer with MRP 55 Rs on the bottle is served for 250 INR. Not so great an experience. My first review of this low rating, if i remember correctly.
