Different experience of visiting this place...didn't got an opportunity to go inside this adorable glittering golden globe / ball... they gave us the reason of corona ....you never know how actually the things work here and what may be the standard operating procedure here to go inside and witness / and feel whats it is like from the inside .... Although in the museum maintained by them had quite a lot of pics of its inside...but you seldom can create the magic from picture , if you actually have not felt it in reality ...

At the very center of Auroville one finds the soul of the city, the Matrimandir. It is a meditation hall, a place where one can come to peace in order to connect with oneself and the divine. For the outer part of the sphere, which was decided should be covered with golden disks, a team of researchers developed a technique to press 24K gold in glass in order to preserve it against weather conditions.

One gets an amazing view of Matrimandir from the viewpoint. However, as every tourist place in India, the crowd was a noisy lot. Matrimandir is a place for peace, it's unfortunate that the tourists don't respect the sanctity of the place. It would be of great benefit to oneself and others if one keep silence and quietly receives the peace that the place offers.

Very well maintained and peaceful place. There's parking free of ₹100 (no time limit). You can only access the cafes and boutiques there and go upto the viewing point of Matrimandir. You'll require special permission to go inside the Matrimandir.

I had gone to Auroville on 30th December 2020. I think the main attraction is the inner chamber (inside the golden globe where we can meditate) which was closed due to covid. I had heard many appreciations about the inner chamber that it is the most peaceful place you’ll ever be etc etc. Apart from that there isn’t really anything to do/see as such. The exhibit was good, where some photos/quotes were displayed. I would recommend going there only if the inner chamber is open for meditation.
