The hotel ambience is amazing, food was homely and satisfying. Most importantly all the staffs were the sweetest and if you have issues they ll rectify it immediately. No complaints at all!

The Tamil Quarter of Pondicherry is a place where cultures not only met, but melted. And gave birth to a way of life found nowhere else in the world. Maison Perumal is our tribute to that way of life. A sepia serigraph of another time - dusted off perhaps, but not retouched. A 9-minute walk from Manakula Vinayagar Temple, this charming hotel in a French Colonial–style building is an 11-minute walk from the Immaculate Conception Cathedral and a 15-minute walk from Promenade Beach. Elegant rooms come with antique furnishings and free Wi-Fi, as well as TVs, sitting areas and desks. Room service is available. Breakfast is complimentary. Additional amenities consist of a cozy bar, and a casual restaurant with outdoor seating and live cooking demos.

The property is truly heritage with beautiful spaces and exceedingly polite staff. However, if you harbour expectations of over-the-top hotel infrastructure like pools and gyms etc., look the other way. This place is for those who wish to soak in the tamil-french eclectic vibe. Beautiful open terrace, tainted glasses in rooms, book shelves with classic literature, swings to spend you hours, charming stairways and a cozy dining area with a fine breakfast. Staff is truly hospitable and makes you feel more like your own farmhouse than a hotel.

There is a parking issue. Hospitality is good and folks are helpful. Its a very old house which has been rebuilt with all the modern amenities. Toilets are small and placed wierdly.
