Pondicherry is a popular globe-trotting place in the country. The former French colony has a lot of magnificent shrines and fascinating beaches to visit which makes it a major tourist hub. The city welcomes people of all cultures and religious backgrounds. Apart from the tourist places, the city is the busiest in M.G. Street and the Sunday Bazaar for fashion and embroidery. Le Dupleix has been made celebrating the best of French architecture in Pondicherry. Le Dupleix is named after the last governor of Pondicherry. When his house was razed down, Mr Kapur was able to save a large part of the woodwork which has been reinstalled in Le Dupleix. With the help of INTACH, an architect, sculptor and textile expert, Mr Kapur was able to restore the woodwork to its former glory. The building was then converted into a hotel.

Pros: Whatever food is available is usually good. Servers can recommend alternative food/ drink options Cons: The options are limited to begin with, and even within that they frequently have things that aren't available. The same is true of their wine menu. Finally, while some of the desserts are good, some seemed pretty stale

Beautiful heritage property. We had a few issues with our room but the ever courteous staff solved the problem and it was smooth sailing after that. Full marks for the staff. Very polite and ever helpful. Definitely recommend to stay here.

They take an hour to serve food and arranging leaves fancily on a plate does not count for a salad. The bottled water was rather off and I cannot even begin to describe the quality of the bread . Two stars for the pasta! The soup was nothing but hot water with few strings of noodles! We ordered a chicken confit which was the only saving grace! That's all!

Loved the service, food was tasty and served timely. Architecture and interiors of the place are rusty, loved the theme. Staff was very cordial and were abiding by covid standards. It was a pleasant stay.

The place is very nice. Ambience is very good. Go for outdoor seating. But not pocket friendly
