Ideal location if you're only interested in Walking Street, but bring your earplugs. Service is mediocre and the rooms outdated.
On the plus side: if you intend on spending most of your time visiting Walking Street, it's the ideal spot: walk out of the reception and you are in the middle of the nightlife. The rooms with a balcony also offer a panoramic view of Pattaya bay and Walking Street (see my photo). On the downside: you'll hear the noise of Walking Street until late at night in your room, so bring earplugs. The hotel and rooms look rather dated and have seen better times, so the name 'Grand Hotel' is not what you expect it to be. Service was poor: I needed to print a voucher for my boat trip to Hua Hin and the receptionist refused to do so, so I had to find an internet café for simply printing out one sheet of paper. Breakfast, however, was nice with very friendly service and a choice of Thai and western dishes. Right across the hotel, you also have a convenient laundry shop. If location and nightlife are your main concerns, this might be the ideal hotel, but if you're looking for service and more modern accommodation, looks elsewhere. When it comes to location: be aware Walking Street is the most expensive option when it comes to nightlife and other spots like Soi 6 and LK Metro are much further removed from this hotel, so only chose this option if Walking Street is your main purpose of visiting Pattaya.
