Also known as Wat Phra Yai, Big Buddha Temple has a300 feet high image of Lord Buddha and is the most prominent landmark of Pattaya. The huge image was established in 1977 and is often referred to as Luang Phor Yhai or Big Buddha by the locals. Hilltop religious site with a famed colossal Buddha statue & a staircase flanked by huge dragons.

A beautiful place with a magnificent view of Pattaya. The steps leading up to the Bucharest are not too steep and easily managed. There are many lovely statues and many Buddhists come here often to pray. A tranquil and uplifting place to visit

One of the best Buddha temples I have ever seen. Very calming & peaceful experience. It has one of the largest Buddha statues. Located in Pattaya. Its totally free of cost to visit here. Loved the place. Must visit place of Pattaya.

Always a popular tourist attraction. Beautiful, peaceful atmosphere even when quite crowded. Appropriate dress code applies but yoy can hire simple sarongs etc. for a few baht. Try the cooling area of the Chinese gardens too.

So unfortunately the big Buddha is under renovation so we were not able to enjoy the full view. Still a very nice place to get some nice views.

A nice spot in front of the Pattaya city view point to have a look at the other side of the city. When I went there the main statue was under some kind of renovation or restoration so could see the whole statue properly.
