The Parc Montsouris is one of the largest green spaces in Paris. It is located in the 14th arrondissement, between rue d'Alésia and the Cité Universitaire de Paris student accommodation. The park's proximity to the Cité Universitaire makes it a favourite walking spot for students. Built under Napoléon III and opened in 1969, the Parc Montsouris comprises a lake, beautiful statues, remarkable trees (Chinese parasol tree, Diospros kaki or Japanese persimmon tree ... ) and the restaurant 'Pavillon Montsouris', as well as being home to many different species of birds. Visitors can also see Montsouris meteorological observatory and the 'mire du Sud', a monument marking the location of the Paris meridian. The Montsouris reservoir, which holds a third of the drinking water consumed by Parisians, is open to the public once a year, on European Heritage Days. Many free concerts are given from May to September at the bandstand.

A great park to visit with plenty of greenery and paths to walk around. There is a beautiful pond with ducks and fish, and playgrounds for children, next to the coffee shop and crepe kiosk. Local groups of boys and girls scouts usually meet here in weekends for activities, and you will also find friends and families picnicking or any kind of age group hanging around and enjoying the sun and the scenery. Lots of uni students also and plenty of individuals who just want to jog/train and let some steam off. The other day we were lucky to run into a small band practicing that really made our day! Enjoy!

One of the best Parisian parks. A lot of space for any activities, two spaces for children, little restaurant, lake with beautiful birds and much more. You can come here to take a drink on the grass with your friend, to chill in the nature or play frisbee with your kids

Surely one of the most beautiful parks in Paris. As you wander along the sloping paths you will see a variety of different trees including Ginkgo and Sequoia. Planting mounds throughout the park are planted with colorful flowers. Sculptures are scattered throughout the park. Don't miss Thomas Paine, painted in gold, situated in the far south of the park. The small lake invites numerous water birds, including a black swan. See if you can find the large fish, up to two feet long, that hang out in the northern part of the lake. Walk your dog. Take the little ones for a pony ride, or, a ride on what must be the smallest railroad in the universe. Try to find the Meridian of Paris and the 5 meter high obelisk. Or, just sit on a bench and take in the beauty of it all.

We went to a flea market on Avenue Rene Coty, and then took a walk down that lovely street. We didn't even know this park was there. It's a lovely place, wide green lawns and a lake, and nice pathways. Worth a visit!
