The French National Museum of Natural History, known in French as the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle , is the natural history museum of France and a grand établissement of Sorbonne Universities. The main museum is located in Paris, on the left bank of the Seine. It was established in 1635 by King Louis XIII as the royal garden of medicinal plants, and in 1793, after the Revolution, it was reorganized in its present form and under its present title. As of 2017, the museum has 14 sites throughout France, including the original location at the Jardin des Plantes, which remains one of the seven departments of MNHN.

My husband and myself absolutely loved it here, kudos to the staff for the upkeep. The overall appearance inside of the museum was also very realistic inside of the displays. We can’t wait to come back again someday and enjoy it all over again. Plan to spend at least 3 hours, but ideally more.

Not worth the visit. Was a disappointment. Expected much more. Nothing to compare with Museum of Natural History of NYC. Not well kept. No help or guidance whatsoever offered to visitors. Part of it was closed but not announced online. About 1 hour of queue to get in.

(Regarding the Paleontology Building) Waited 1 hour in the rain to get in, even though we came around opening time on a Sunday, some people didn't have umbrellas and were soaking wet by the time they got in to the museum. Also there are no english descriptions, which is bizarre considering at leat half of the visitors are foreign, but I suppose this matches France's general attitude towards English. The general upkeep is very poor, which is sad because the exhibits themselves are amazing, I would give the staff and administration a 1 star and the objects and animals in the museum a 5 star.

Place like that are essentials to remind us about species that used to exist , those that are endangered and in need of our protection and those in need of our attention and care . It’s important for parents in search of activities entertainments for their child to think about places like this museum for them to grow conscious citizens ready to take care of our Mother Earth
