Bokar Monastery is located in Mirik, West Bengal, India near Darjeeling. ... The monastery was founded by Kyabje Bokar Rinpoche in 1984. The original intent was to create a small retreat centre, but at the requests of disciples and lay people Rinpoche began to accept monks for training.

A really nice and decorated monastery. The view from the upper floor is nice as well. However, the inside of the monastery is much better than the outside. It has a lot of paintings and statues with high level craftsmanship. The main hall also feels very spiritual.

Such a serene atmosphere. Totally worth visiting. If you love Buddhist culture & monasteries, trust me you will love this place. The view of mirik lake from this monastery is breath taking.

Very nice peaceful and quiet atmosphere.. You can walk from Mirik lake to reach there.. You will enjoy both the walk and the monastery...

calm and beautiful monastery. full of colours. you can listen prayer and bell rings in the morning. mirik lake can be seen from here.
