Jaw-dropping landscape!!! It's quite an easy hike to reach the waterfall. I recommend that you take a guide is you don't know the region. Before going to the waterfall go around to the right of the bus station. There is a viewpoint where you can see all the waterfall with the rainbow. It worth it. Bring good shoes and plenty of water. There is also a small pond where you can get a spa treatment. Take your socks off and go for it. at the end of the hike, you will reach a waterfall and pond. feel free to take a dive. Also standing under the waterfall is a must. you won't regret it. It took us around 3 hrs to complete the hike.

I'm still a little confused as to exactly which one is Tamarind Falls as there are 7 falls here in total. I only visited the 3 at the very top of the gorge. It can be a little tricky to find, but no need for a guide. Park at the temple just before crossing the bridge. Google maps directed me to a viewpoint, but I drove a little further, through a bus parking lot and eventually found the temple I had read about in other reviews. Follow the wide footpath exactly opposite the entrance of the temple. At a point the footpath has a definite split. I followed the path to the right which led me to the 3rd fall. The final descent to the fall is extremely steep. From this fall it is a gentle climb to the two falls higher up and then a bit of a climb/clamber back to the wide path, but a much shorter steep climb than the path to #3. If done this way round, you do a loop with the very steep bit done and dusted early on. If you take the left path at the split instead, it will take you to fall #1 first, but then a very steep climb out of the gorge at the end. The beaches in Mauritius get extremely crowded over weekends, so I opted to get away from the crowds and head to the mountains and waterfalls over the weekend - good decision!

Most beautiful hiking area, great for family walks. But quite dangerous without a guide!
