It is the very old botanical garden of Mauritius. It was made in the memory of independence of Mauritius. There is wide range of veritas of tress brought here from Africa, India and whole over the world. It is not like you have seen the other botanical gardens having flowers and other stuff. But worth for visit. Good place for visit.

A beautiful garden, loaded with incredible plants, an opportunity to see the prehistoric looking Talipot palms and so much more. It may be a good idea to wear some mosquito repellent as these can be a problem. The park could do with a few more dustbins.

The guides are very knowledgeable and provide a bunch of information. I have to admit that I am not really that into plants so most of the tour was a bit lot on me. It was a nice break from the beaches and catamaran tours though and you do get to see the giant lily pads and lotus flowers and see what nutmeg fruit, cinnamon, clove trees etc look like. Note that mosquito repellent is a must! Had about 10 bites even though I borrowed some repellent from other people in the group.

Beautiful botanical garden. In need of a cafe or restaurant to draw the crowds. The office building would be an amazing location for that. If you can take a tour guide. Our guide was very informative and showed us things we would otherwise have missed. Impressive colony of bats. When we visited there was litter scattered in places, but not sure if that was due to the cyclone that had hit the island the week before. Forget about the tropical plants at Kew, this is the real thing! Be prepared with a mosquito repellent. Otherwise well worth the visit.

Nice place for a walk and picnic in nature surrounding. Take the guide, its not expensive. Guide will show you most interesting plants, especially worth to not miss those that are used in the kitchen.
