A very interesting rum distillery and the food is exceptional. There is so much sugar cane in Mauritius its unbelievable. The rum has a very intense flavour and extremely sweet. The setting is beautiful between the mountains and the curio shop has some really interesting items.

The guided tour is interesting. The tasting even better :) The location is very nice, like in the middle of a park. The food is really delicious, a bit pricey but there are different menu options.

Brilliant day visit, with a bit too much rum drank. Did the guided tour and that made it special, with all history and information about the rum making process. Shops availble to buy goodies and souvenirs. Highly recommend this trip but go for guided tour that includes transport and a lunch with the deal. It was a whole adventure for us.

We went to Chamarel rum tasting. It costed 400 rs mauritian rupee per person. There was a tour which shows how rum is created. We got to taste a cocktail which was created in front of us. Then we got to taste 8 types of rum. Since I am not much of a drinker, it was difficult to taste neat shots of rum.
