Very great place to be if you are intrested to know the history, you will spend 30 to 45 minutes here, and highly recommended Museum in Mauritius. The museums needs immediate renovation but it is still in good shape with genuine artifacts and remnants of The Dutch and France without forgetting the british Rule.

Good museum with plenty of interesting explanations about Mauritius and its history. Although is hard to believe that in 300 years of history, no even one woman is mention to have done something for the country. Look further into your women history. Toilets were pretty bad.

Great place to learn some basics about Mauritian history, a real must see and a first stop for any culture tourists who want a basic background history of the Island and its many peoples. Can easily spend hours here, but a flying visit in an hour is possible if you are passing.
