Kasol is a hamlet in the district Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, northern India. It is situated in Parvati Valley, on the banks of the Parvati River, on the way between Bhuntar and Manikaran. It is located 30 km from Bhuntar and 3.5 km from Manikaran. An emerging favorite of the country is the Kheerganga trek in the beautiful land of Kasol, which is a small town housed on the slopes of Parvati Valley. Nestled on the fringes of Parvati River, Kasol has found its place in the tourism face of Himachal Pradesh for being a pleasant getaway throughout the year. Kheerganga or Kheer Ganga as the name suggests is Ganga River ( the Ganges River) as White as a Kheer (an Indian sweet dish made from milk and Rice) The name Kheerganga came due to the milky waters of the river flowing in all its vastness and its streams flowing into Parvati valley from all sides of the mountain. Around 17 kilometers from Kheerganga base camp, this small holy town of Manikaran is famous for its Sikh.

The trek is long but average . Do carry the water bottle by yourself. Also take some food with you. The food and water is mainly over-priced but the hotels or camps are very cheap and good. Overall you will enjoy the trek . And it will take like three-four hours if you take only one fifteen minute break. Try avoiding taking multiple breaks.
