Nice experience. The walk up will be challenging. Harder if it is summer. So go prepared for the climb up. This is quite popular place and attracts a dose bit if crowd. The drive to this place is also very good. Once you are in, there are caves which will amaze you. Worth the hardship to make it to the top. Must visit place if you visit this area.

Calm & cool Area, another masterpiece by ancient people. the rock cutting technology really seems awesome , huge rocks cut & carved with very clear & detailed carvings. the elephant carving at entrance have trunks which are almost of 7ft. and the total height of ceiling at first gaze easily gives you a idea that it must more than a 3floor building of present day. really a point to think that how those ancient people must have carved things at such a great height without any modern technology and the size of the carving remains exactly equal from flooring to ceiling. might be the were having some kind of mold. the statues carved are the same that we mostly see at Buddha caves. The caves very next to this main cave is also very interesting as there is special 1st floor designed for may be meditation. it has steps to climb, this steps are also carved into a rock, the rock cutting is so fine that you can actually find 90degree angle at the wall corners.

Nice historical place. Needs better maintenance. Try to reach early in the morning as parking is problem later in the day (during weekends). A fee of 25 per head is there. Kids younger than 12 expempted from this fee. The walk to the caves is around 20 minutes. Walk way has plenty of shops that provide food items as well as some fancy items.... At a premium though. Regarding the monument, the main hall is well maintained. The other rooms maintenance surely require some attention. All in all... It is a nice place to visit.

At the entrance to the caves is also a temple, more modern construction, that attracts a lot of visitors. The steps leading to the caves and temple are lined on either side with shops selling materials to be used during 'darshan' at the temple. The approach to the area of the caves was closed of about a kilometer before the start of the steps because of the crowds attracted primarily to the temple; there were likely many more people than usual when we visited because it was a Sunday. The caves themselves seem not to be very well maintained and large sections were closed to the public. In essence, there wasn't a whole lot to be gotten from the visit to the caves based on their current condition, and the surrounding environment considerably diminished any enthusiasm for making such a visit.
