Kalighat Kali Temple is a Hindu temple in Kalighat, Kolkata, West Bengal, India dedicated to the Hindu goddess Kali. It is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. The river over a period of time has moved away from the temple. The temple is now on the banks of a small canal called Adi Ganga which connects to the Hooghly.

Very Nice and Old Hindu temple... Too much crowd on weekends and specially on Thursdays... There were some priests/pandas arranging VIP entry by paying them 100 Rs.... Overall v nice feeling specially one goes there after reading the history of this great temple...

Very old and famous temple. I visited in the evening. Has a long walk with spiritual material shops on both side of the walk road. I had a very smooth experience since it was not peak time for visiting temple.

Good but its all about business around. One suggestion is for the visitors that don't fall with priests trap.. Avoid them better go & visit by yourself rather you give some money to the poor..

The place is quite crowded but the parking area is well managed. The place has a strong religious vibe. The temple can be easily located. There are ample hotels available for staying.

Nice temple. But lot of people you need to be aware of at the gate you are met with pundits, then inside the temple people forcefully ask money so be prepared for such an experience. I had to go back a second time to actually get a good view of the idol due to such people.
