It is one of the most reputed restaurants for South Indian cuisine. Service is good and so is the food. In terms of variety it has limitations as only South Indian cuisine is available, all the items on are not available all the days. It closes down by evening.

Amazing and light south Indian food. Food is mouth-watering. Services are great and friendly. The food is really tasty. So much of flavor mixed with typical south-Indian spices make a perfect blend of a great yet light meal. I would highly recommend this place.

Jyoti Vihar is the ultimate place to go to for South Indian fare in Kolkata. I went there after 2 yrs today and found the same high standards of food and ended up with an extremely satisfying meal. This place has been around for over 40+ plus years and I recall going there back in the mid-80s! It's a true hole in the wall and one won't even see a sign board out front. Still, it does not stop die hard fans from flocking to it.

Love love love this place. Very authentic South Indian joint in one of the last of the quieter neighbors in Calcutta. Great price, awesome quality, and fantastic service which can be rare for a a place like this. Full waiter service so you don't have to go up to pay.

Popular South Indian restaurant for Lunch. Should factor in a waiting time for around 10-15 minutes. Quick service, good food.
