One of the most historic places in India. With a very rich and profound connection to the Indian history of the British rule in India. Built in 1758, this place is a military HQ and civilians are not allowed unless accompanied by serving members of the armed forces. Thanks to Indian army for keeping the tradition and the spirit alive for all these years.

I loved it. Well maintained and you need to have at least 2 hrs to cover this place. Monuments are covered very well. You will definitely not get bored even if you visit here alone.

Visited thrice to the place. Recommend to visit the monument once. Its a nice historic place to be visited. Exhibition of the ancient history, weapons, achievements of the Indian struggle and more over the contribution of the then worriers is shown there. Suggested to visit by the time fixed and the weekly holiday to be kept in mind, or else you will not get the chance to enjoy the place. The garden is so beautiful to seat and enjoy after the long walk. Evening visit is the excellent choice if you need peaceful enjoyment. Happy visit.

The Fort is built of brick and mortar in the shape of an irregular octagon with an area 5 km². Five of its sides face landward, and three towards the hoogly river. The design is that of a star fort, suited to defence against cannon firing solid shot, and dates from before the advent of explosive shells. A dry moat 9 m deep and 15 m broad surrounds the fort.

Best place to be in. Historically rich with oldest first and only one which has not been conquered. It has the oldest gun used. U will also find the very rare church with historical importance.
