Very good park. A huge lake located at mid point of park. Many migrated birds coming here. Totally peaceful & romantic place. You can enjoy all of way. Photography is best option here. Also mouthwatering veg & egg patties sold an uncle inside the park.

A beautiful green and serene place with a lovely lake. It's a wonderful place to have walks, fresh air and sunshine, shade and all. Professional photography and dirtying the place with plastic bags and food items is totally banned (and please don't even try to do that, it's a lovely place for calm and meditation). As it's a vast land, you can do a lot of things here - enjoy the lake view , have long walks / strolls , play outdoor sports (badminton, cricket etc), have picnics (there are garbage bins everywhere so please keep the place clean) and enjoy.

Very good park in the city of Kolkata with nice greenery. Also called as Maidan. Cameras are not allowed but you can still see many people clicking photographs. May be mobile photography is allowed. While entering the park no one asks you but while exiting they may check if you have camera. There is a pond which gives nice reflection of the buildings on the opposite side of the park. They should do something about the love birds as this park is meant for all and minimum decency should be maintained. All in all good for joggers and to relax.

Maidan is basically an open field, where people can hang out for long hours and enjoy. Certain sports are being taught here in the Maidan field, although I am not sure about the types of sports being trained here. One can get to the field just by walking a few minutes distance from Maidan metro station. The field is basically located on the opposite side of the Victoria Memorial. The only thing I feel bad about the place is that the place is a bit dirty by the edges and mosquitoes are prevalent. You can enjoy horse ride here. The best time to visit the place is during winters or when the weather will be cool. As the place is fully open, so you may not like to be here during scorching summer.

This is awesome place for family and one day picnic as well as can visit with friends, also good for photographers. It has awesome seven wonders of the world created inside. I loved the place and will recommend to visit once if you are in Kolkata.
