Patwon Ki Haveli is a cluster of five large havelis in Jaisalmer. Its beautiful architecture, creative mirror work, intricate carvings, lovely paintings, and its rich goldish yellow color is what makes this cluster of havelis a favorite among tourists and locals alike.

People who highly enjoy knowing the history of forts, for them it's a must visit place. It will interest other people too with its ancient architecture and knowing about all the tactics they invested themselves into for their livelihood. You will come across things in the Haveli, making you feel that there was nothing impossible for them back then. It has 20 rupees entry fees. There are local guides available at the location. Hiring one of them was the best decision, he made us tour the entire Haveli sharing with us every minute detail, which without a guide it was impossible to know such interesting facts about that place!

The patwon ki haveli is situated in the lanes of Jaisalmer. The historic monument has meticulously carved exteriors. There are 4 havellis or houses. The fee is nominal at Rs 50/-. You can also get a guide for around 50-100Rs. The haveli is well maintained but theres nothing much to see on the inside. The rooms are grand with very well carved and painted ceilings. You can witness the jaisalmer fort in all its glory from the terrace of the monument.

It has a unique architechture and design and it was the first haveli built in the Jaisalmer City. It is not a single haveli but a cluster of 5 small havelis.

The beauty of this place lies in the meticulously carved exteriors. There is not much to do inside the haveli as it has dilapidated interiors that have not been properly maintained. You can though visit it at a nominal Rs. 50 fees to see some intricate carvings, classic gold ceiling work and some views of the fort and city (refer to my photos). There is no need for a tour guide whatsoever (you will get a few roaming around charging about 50-100)
