Kuldhara is an abandoned village in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan, India. Established around the 13th century, it was once a prosperous village inhabited by Paliwal Brahmins. It was abandoned by the early 19th century for unknown reasons, possibly because of dwindling water supply, or as a local legend claims, because of persecution by the Jaisalmer State's minister Salim Singh. A 2017 study suggests that Kuldhara and other neighbouring villages were abandoned because of an earthquake. This is the popular place among tourists.

With its first structures built sometime in the 13th century, the village of Kuldhara, India was abruptly abandoned overnight sometime in the early 19th century. No one knows why, exactly, but a few theories have emerged in an attempt to explain it.Located approximately ten miles west of the city of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, the once-prosperous village is now nothing more than a few stone ruins.

One time watch to satisfy your curiosity. Kuldhara - "The abandoned village" as they say, is believed to be a haunted place and that too quite popular among travellers. The reminiscent of the houses and buildings is clearly visible. Many houses seem destroyed and left just like that.

It's ruins of an abandoned village. We visited during the day and the place was crowded with tourists. Though it's said to be haunted please but it's nothing like it. The ruins are spread across vast land but is visible from the top of some of the renovated structures. The place is now being developed a for tourism, so paved road and structures are built around the ruins.
