Beautiful mosque built in Adil Shahi period (Rulers of Bijapur, 1560 AD). It is one of the two 16th century mosques of Goa which survived the Inquisition. There's water tank and garden adjacent to the mosque. It's hardly a kilometer away from ponda bus stand. This beautifully landscaped monument is photographer's delight.

Safa Masjid a historical mosque situated in Shapur, Ponda, Goa. It was built by Ibrahim Adil Shah I, in 1560 AD. Mosque is built at the center of the rectangular garden, having simple and elegant Islamic Architecture terracotta tiles roof, fountain and large ablution hauz having mehrabs and niches and steps leading to hauz to perform the ritual. It's a popular place of worship.
