Church of St. Augustine is a ruined church complex located in Old Goa. The church was completed in 1602 and is part of the World Heritage Site, Churches and convents of Goa. The church was built on top of the Monte Santo (Holy Hill), between 1597 and 1602 by Augustinian friars who landed in Goa in 1587. The church was considered as one of the three great Augustinian churches in the Iberian world along with El Escorial and the Monastery of São Vicente de Fora

This place was nice and was totally so huge back in the day. Wow. Amazing how the roof structure was but very little information onboard to see would have to google. Even very little told at the museums around. Maybe in future when they make this place a tourist trap they will describe more information. So for now it’s free and worth the visit in the area. Church of St. Augustine is a ruined or fallen church, ( called as st. Augustine tower) because there were four tower's for this church but at present only one remains, it is located in Old Goa india. it is a part of the World Heritage Site, Churches and convents of Goa. The church was built on top of the holy hill , between 1597 and 1602 by Augustinian friars. It's ruined but a best place to have peace of mind, had a wonderful experience, Our visit to the church was a beautiful and had blessed day. I recommend travellers to visit this place as it's an amazing destination, mostly history lovers should visit this place when in Goa.

A great place... Once a Church now a majestic monument. You can find lots of stone encrypts. Requesting visitors to respect the ground rules and pay attention to the history of the place.

Nice Historical Place. The ruins speaks a lot about the life of the Jews. The Coffin made out of Marble (of a baby) compels attention. And the ritual bath system of the Jews was another attraction. Esp the Lightning Arrester they've placed to save the ruined tower from lightning. There still a lot of work going on. Thanks

5 mins from the old church lies this dilapidated yet magnificent church. This is a huge complex with a lot of restoration activity happening. Just being inside is magnificent and amazing experience. One should definitely look out for this and the church of our lady of mount for no-crowd enjoyment
