The Carambolim lake is a man made freshwater lake that is situated within walking distance from the Karmali Railway Station. It is a famous bird watching spot in Goa where one can see a lot of species of migratory birds as well as a lot of waterbirds.

Not worth a special visit to since the observation tower is mostly locked up and no rangers to give advice on what to look for. Having said that, I live locally and can say that from 8am in mornings or 6pm in evenings you will normally see most activity since the catfish start to jump and that brings in the crocodiles, the herons, the kingfishers and the eagles!

You can find variety of birds here (local as well as migratory). However it is advisable to stay alert as there are many crocodiles found in the lake.

It's a water reserve maintained for the Migratory birds which can be seen in ample during the winters especially, and it has crocodiles throughout the year

from Calangute, Goa to Carambolim Lake Approx 25 km and time duration approx 40 min carambolim Lake is near Karmali Railway station, Goa its a nice n peace full place morning time is best to visited this lake need very much infrastructure and development to attract to visitors and tourist nothing to develop here only one positive things is this lake near karmali railway station. any one can see this lake from karmali railway station need need need some development and develop infrastructure
