You get one of the if not the best view of the Silk Route from here. The view of the looping roads gaining altitude at each turns is breathtaking. You can also get a great view of the might Kangchenjunga from here.

At 11200 feet, Thambi View Point offers a panoramic view of Mt. Kanchenjungha. Located at a distance of 14 kms from Zuluk on the famous zig-zag road (locally called Bhulbhulaiya for its 30 hairpin turns) Thambi is a roadside viewpoint that opens up suddenly to Mt. Kanchenjungha.

The entire East Sikkim trip was planned keeping Zuluk in mind. We had to see the beautiful and ancient silk route that used to run between China and go all the way upto Afghanistan. Thambi view point afforded excellent views of the hair pin bends (gata loops). There are 32 hair pin bends in total and with the clouds and fog playing hide and seek it made for some amazing photos.
