Bindu is only 107 km from Siliguri. The last hamlet of West Bengal, Bindu is a valley encircled with hills of Bhutan and India on the banks of river Jaldhaka. It is a feast for the eyes and stimulating experience for the mind. The road that leads to Bindu is in itself an unforgettable experience. The Dooars area starts immediately after you cross the Tista River at Coronation Bridge. The whole region is extremely beautiful with green vegetation all around. Most of the time you will be traveling through the plain with the hills on your left just a few hundred meters away. There is also the possibility of sighting wildlife on the way. Bindu is a conglomeration of different aborigines. The peace-loving people of Bindu are engaged either in Elaichi (Cardamom) or Suntala (Orange) cultivation. Terrace cultivation is quite common here. Just a few kilometers away from Bindu and paren on an accentuated height is Godak village. On either side of the road, you will find Cardamom and Orange plantation. From here, you can have a view of the few villages of Bhutan, Paren, and Bindu. On the way to Godak Government has set up a Cardamom Curing Centre for the farmers.

The place is nice but the road to reach Bindu is pathetic(hilly part of the road). Since this is one of the well visited tourist destinations the road condition should be better. The authority who are responsible for the maintenance of the road should look into this. One more thing there is some taxi union who are taking Rs.30 but for what purpose, not sure.

Its a great spot to visit! You can see Bhutan just the opposite side of the river . Normally ,in the picnic season ( winter ) the water level remains pretty low so you can easily roam through the rocks , that's a very fun thing! Apart from the main attraction , the barrage , the view is very beautiful. But one thing hurts me the most , that is - it is getting polluted day by day. While walking through the rocks you can spot pile of garbage , mainly glass bottles (you probably know what it is). Overall, great place.

With India on one bank and Bhutan on the other, this barrage is a local tourist spot. Though you might not be overwhelmed with the surrounding beauty but would surely love to spend some hours on the rocks over the river with your friends, family or loved ones... You might also be excited over the idea that you can actually visit a different country just by crossing the river on foot, though you would find no difference between the two sides...
