Chinmaya Tapovan is a modern day ashram situated at the foothills of the majestic Dhauladhar ranges of the Himalayas. Situated on the banks of Bindu Saras, the ashram was founded by late Swami Chimayananda. The ashram complex has a 9 m high image of Lord Hanuman, a Ram temple, a meditation hall, a school, and a health and recreation center. A nine foot high statue of My great Lord Hanuman stands at the gate, spreading his special message of loyalty and bravery. A mini forest of pine trees, which is a few hundred yards away, is a very good picnic spot with absolutely no noise around.

This place is very calm and beautiful. Here I talked to one of the student and he was 40 years old who joined this asharam for learning Gita & Vedas. You can join this at any age with free of cost and duration of course is 2.5 years with free accommodation. Students distinguish with the help of clothes color like White dress for first semester Yellow dress for third semester Orange dress for final year students

Calm and quite positive energy vibrating place. Samadhi temple of Chinmaya Swamiji, Ram Mandir, Hanuman Mandir is located inside the premises. Best place to hear gita discourses.

This place is a leading centre of teaching indian vedas, have an ashram which offer two and half year course in the above subject. A beautiful well maintained ashram with an excellent faculty for teaching vedas, a bookshop of their publications and a beautiful Rama Mandir (temple) with an absolutely majestic Hanuman's statue of almost 20 feet height in beautiful surrounding. If you happens to be in or around Dharamshala, do visit this lovely place. Have a memorial also dedicated to its founder Swami Chinmayananda.

Surrounded by lush green Deodar, in the serene and picturesque Dhauladhar range of Himalayas, it is ideal place to spend few days in this Ashram for activities propagated by Chinmaya Mission cutting across all age groups .The simplicity of Ashram with reasonable facilities makes it ideal to explore Vedanta through well versed saints nurtured by Mission. Must visit once during one's active lifetime.
