I have no clue why this place is rated #46/2328 on trip adviser. It is definitely underrated. The place is really nice and with really good quality food. The price for food and wine is also very decent. Service is also awesome. Everyone travelling to Brussel should give it a go

Lovely food for a very decent price. Owner was friendly and spoke several languages very well. It was a quiet Tuesday evening with several people dining alone. The atmosphere creates a nice, safe place for those who like to enjoy food at their terms.

Chez Willy is a small little restaurant in one of the side streets off the Grand Place. We ordered from their fixed-prix menu and were not disappointed. We had the asparagus Flemish style, beef cheeks in beer sauce and creme brulee to finish. Everything came out fresh and in a decent portion size. They have indoor seating and also a few small tables outside.

Way overrated for no reason The place features a one page menu of mostly classic French dishes. You can either order a la carte or have a 3 course meal for EUR 36. However, the execution is just not there. Seared foie gras was too mushy and lost its elegance under overpowering banana. Risotto was way overcooked. Duck breast came with an inch of fat on it and was too greasy and tough; almost no side other than 4-5 gnocchi. Overall very mediocre. The place is tiny and oddly set so that the front door opens just inches away from the first table. There is also no lobby so people walking in are just confused and crowd the door, keeping it wide open. In December this was very unpleasant as a few dozen people walked in and out during our meal, making the place cold and uncomfortable. The manager - server - front house was quick and unwelcoming dismissing everyone with no reservations - at this point why don't you just put a sign outside to reduce the in and out traffic?

The menu is small but there is enough choice for everyone to find something to his liking. I went for the 36 Euro three course menu which basically means you choose a starter, mains and dessert or cheese. I liked quality and quantity of the food. The place has a very comfortable feeling. It is not large and was completely full on Saturday evening. So better to book ahead if you want to be sure to get a table. The service was friendly but think the kitchen was a bit overwhelmed as my meal took over two hours.
