The Japanese Tower was erected between 1901 and 1904 by King Leopold II. The interior is particularly richly decorated and has decorative panels in chased copper, stucco, and impressive stained-glass windows. The Japanese Tower is part of the site of the Museums of the Far East together with the The Chinese pavillion and the Museum of Japanese Art. The three buildings are closed for renovation.The Federal Buildings Agency will supervise the renovation project of the entire site. The permanent collection including paintings, gloss paints, ceramics, folding screens, weapons, calligraphy, and engravings are stored at the Cinquantenaire Museum.

Still under renovations I have no idea how it is. Many years now that I have been waiting the visit inside of the buildings,but can only see the gardens. Still it looks beautiful and very close to Atomium.

Such a picturesque place and such a pity to see parts of the Fabulous buildings in disrepair. I did have a run in with a pickpocket on the tram out here but perhaps that is a reflection of the station's we were passing through
