An amazing location first of all for this museum. The exhibitions were amazing and the museum as a whole was set up really nicely with clear tags and descriptions to everything. The different halls "beautifully" show you how war developed and motives changed through the ages. They were renovating, but still capable of delivering a great experience, respect for that! If you are interested you can also access the room to the left of the entrance with you ticket, which will lead you to a medieval exhibition and an elevator which leads to the roof. Not really obvious in my opinion, but definitely worthwhile to check out.

A must! If you’re in Brussels you must go visit this museum, it’s huge and full of history from the very beginning of Europe up until now and it could take a whole day to visit if you want to play close attention to every piece in there and read each description carefully. Super interesting, interactive museum. Recommend a visit

An excellent museum that presents European history with an unique angle: of Europe as a whole. This reminds me of Chinese national history that tries to portray the country as a whole, even thought China was fragmented into different countries for a longer part of history. Similarly, unlike the conventional textbook European history that focuses on individual countries, this museum presents European history as one whole. Events are portrayed as happening to “Europe,” a Europe which includes Russia. Whether you agree or disagree with this story, it is very unique (but perhaps a modern propaganda).

Lots of great and interesting stuff here. It has 6 floors packed with info on Europe. You need to give yourself plenty of time to do this properly. There is a nice Cafe at the bottom as well but it is a bit overpriced. There is free locker storage for coats and bags too. For a free museum you can not beat it in Brussels.

Amazing museum! Very high tech and extremely well thought out. It's completely free of charge and you also get a guide in the form of a tablet and a pair of headphones. The tablet knows exactly where you are and you can touch on the screen the items you want to know more about. It's also very vast and as impartiable as it can be, not taking sides unnecessarily; it presets the main events that molded Europe in a very objective way. Very entertaining and very interactive. The most modern museum I've been to.
