The Horta Museum is located in the private house and studio of Victor Horta (1861-1947). Built between 1898 and 1901 at 23-25 rue Américaine in Saint-Gilles, Brussels, the two buildings are typical of Art Nouveau at its height. The interior decoration has largely been retained, the mosaics, stained glass, and wall decorations forming a harmonious and elegant whole, down to the last detail. Since October 2016, the Horta Museum has been extended allowing it to present temporary exhibitions as well as keeping its important archives and a reference Art Nouveau library consisting of more than 5.000 books.

A money making machine! You pay 16.50 euros for the ticket, and that's not the end. You pay 1 euro to leave your jacket at the cloakroom, plus 0.50 euros to go to the toilet, and another 2 euros for the virtual reality reconstruction of monet painting sites. The quality of the projection on the walls is rather poor, and then you get a few posters with explanations of impressionism and a reconstruction of his atelier. That's it. You can see it at leisure in 1 hour. The vr is very nice but you pay it as extra and you will queue about half an hour, because half of the devices don't work. What can I say? The are better things to do with your money.

Poor welcome by young staff for the Claude Monet exhibition. Blonde employee almost lost the jacket of my husband. The man was very professional. The expo was nice.
