I had intended to rate the hotel 2 stars after my stay because, despite the issues, it labeled itself a budget 3-star hotel and you kind of get what you pay for. However, in searching for the hotel to rate it, I find it's under a different name. That just smells sketchy and I dislike that. It goes under the name of Hotel Iris Expo (which is what I booked), Iris International, and Auberge Van Strombeek (what shows on the outside of the building). My original review: Hotel is fairly out of the way. Check in was simple, no fuss. Room was small, furniture was decent, but the room was not cleaned well. The floor was sticky, the blanket had a pink stain on it, the desk had a still wet soda ring from a can, and the towels were no longer white. The bathroom sink would not drain properly (very slowly) and the shower did not drain at all, causing water to flood into the room.

Dirty, dangerous, broken, disgusting. How on earth they are still operating is beyond me. The place is a health and safety hazard all over. -Exposed electrical wires everywhere. -Leaking toilet seat onto the floor. -No pillow cover on my pillow. -Pillow had brown stains on it. -Missing floor tiles. -Parts of ceiling missing. -Horrible smell in the rooms -One of the walls in the room had sharp metal sticking out. -Dead bugs on all window sills since 1962. -Very overpriced! Avoid! If you care about yourself and your family, avoid at all cost.

Disgusting, dirty, broken walls and the smell!!! worst hotel I have ever been to. Rather sleep on the street. DO NOT BOOK! Checked in, checked out. Took the Ibis next door which feels like a 5 star deluxe.
