Som Tam Jay So is located down a quiet side street in Bangkok's Silom business district. There's a bright green awning on the front, with rows of red tables and stools inside. Outside, there's a cabinet full of meat and all the ingredients needed to prepare the famous som tam, or spicy papaya salad. CUISINES - Thai. Approx cost for two people Rs 400.

The food was good especially the grilled pork. Salad is a bit spicy for me but nice as well. The staff speaks limited english but quite efficient when arrange table for us. Although we can’t expect much from them since we can’t speak any Thai, but we kinda wish they would be more attentive. Took us a lot of time to get their attention. Everything else is fine.

Great food! Friendly staff! Nice atmosphere. Busy at lunch time. Probs best papaya salad I've had. Will be back!

Thai Isaan style i believe. Great food. Very busy at lunch time. We went after the rush, good fun. Lovely food, it'll be spicy if you don't all for it a little less so ! Lovely staff and owners - felt like a family run joint.

A must visit in bkk. All som tum came with a strong chilly punch! And go for cat fish salad and pork numtok. The grilled chicken wings and grilled pork neck are to die for too!
