Krua Apsorn is a long time classic heritage restaurant in Bangkok. The restaurant (the Samsen location), being located in a government district of Bangkok, has a strong following of officials who often come for a good solid classic Thai meal. Seafood, Asian, Thai. Local and authentic food, various vegetarian options! Prices are good. Atmosphere is very special since this restaurant has a history in Thailand. We had the fried tofu, green curry with mushrooms and fluffy omelette. All of them were vegetarian and tasted amazing!

A really enjoyable and delicious meal, with a good range of unusual Thai dishes and some more familiar. Everything was spot on, freshly cooked where appropriate and very good value for money. A very worthwhile place to go for a leisurely lunch

Delicious curry deshelled crab (400 baht), the flower vegetable too is another must order! No frills, authentic Thai food. Higher price than normal but they are very generous with the proteins. Staffs can be friendly, most don’t speak good English. Busy restaurant, come off peak hour to have a less noisy peaceful meal.

When we ordered the famous “crab meat with yellow chill”, we were hoping to get a good size portion since the price was 500 baht ($17 USD)... Unfortunately, the portion was extremely small (see the photo). I wouldn’t pay for that amount if we knew about the portion size. Very disappointed. Also, be aware of tourist price! I ordered Coke and they deceitfully overcharged us. The original price on the menu was just 15 baht but they charged us 20 baht in the bill. I know it’s not much but it’s so dishonest that made me upset. Honestly, it’s a tourist trap and I will never come back again.

Attention, I had raw chicken in my green curry fried rice! That can turn into a serious salmonella poisoning. Every restaurant should care about well done chicken meat. The taste was poor as well. My partners Green Curry Mushroom was ok but nothing special.
