Khlong Lat Mayom is a traditional floating market around 10 km east of downtown Bangkok. You can get there by taxi from the Wongwian Yai BTS Skytrain Station. Local market culture has deep roots in Thai daily life and eating out is not a special event as it is in western culture.

This floating market is the highlight of our Bangkok travel. It has the best selections of food at the lowest prices I have ever seen in Thailand. You can do a boat ride at 50 - 100 B along the canal. People are super-nice, they encourage you to try a sample before you buy it. You can also stroll through the pier where you can come across beautiful nature & a little outdoor museum. I really enjoyed everything about this market. I will miss this.

What a great half day trip! We were impressed by the size of the market (it is on land and there is an option to take a boat ride; we did not) and the variety of food/goods sold. Best of all, there are no foreigner prices here. Everyone was fair and friendly. Highly recommended.

We first went to Taling Chan Floating market but it was really small and touristic. Khlom is much better! The food is great and fresh! There are tons of vendors (food mostly) and live music. The floating part is not very big but overall a fantastic thai experience.

Very enjoyable experience. Lots of good and interesting dishes to try at this market. And cleanliness level seems to be quite high compared to other markets. Calling it a floating market may be misleading, as 98% of the market is on solid ground, located next one of Bangkok's many canals. Nevertheless, a great experience, and do hop on one of the boats for a canal-tour, it's fun watching the market from the waterside. You can easily spend a half day or more there, and don't miss out on all the traditional Thai sweets and fresh fruits.

Fun market to visit on a Sunday. At 9:30 they were still setting up but even after noon it was still not unpleasantly crowded except in a few areas. Zone 3 was even less crowded and had a great coffee stand.
