Bangkok's Chinatown is one of the largest Chinatowns in the world. It was founded in 1782 when the city was established as the capital of the Rattanakosin Kingdom, and served as the home of the mainly Teochew immigrant Chinese population, who soon became the city's dominant ethnic group. Originally centred around Sampheng, the core of Chinatown now lies along Yaowarat Road, which serves as its main artery and sometimes lends its name to the entire area, which is often referred to as Yaowarat (Thai: ???????). Chinatown's entire area is roughly coterminous with Samphanthawong District, and includes neighbourhoods such as Song Wat and Talat Noi along the Chao Phraya River, and Charoen Chai, Khlong Thom and Nakhon Khasem along Charoen Krung Road.

Nice building design. Good photo spot. Lots of parking spaces. Clean toilets but need to pay 5 baht. Very few shops considering the wide space and number of buildings available for rent. Quiet but I visited on a non-holiday weekday so it might be more lively on the holidays. Overall disappointed.

The place is nicely decorated and I'd say it's a good photography spot. There are some eateries there but quite few in numbers. One good point is that it is not crowded most of the time. There are plenty of parking spots as well.

Go for Kindu festival but not many food stalls in the afternoon. Regular food stalls & restaurants at front area are just fews.

With decor that literally screams "China town" one wonders if it actually has a name. Nice place to eat. With potential for startups. remember, it's a non commercial zone. Green businesses would prosper.

Beautiful and very clean place, where filthy food stands haven't made it dirty...yet. Relaxing and peaceful. Even the air seems cleaner, and no heat from food stands like in Bangkok.
