The replica of the famous VOC ship Amsterdam, which stands behind the Scheepvaart Museum in the Dutch capital, was moved to the dock in Amsterdam Noord on Sunday night for major restorations. The restorations, which will cost around a million euros, include repairing leaking seams, replacing the ship's three masts, and a new coat of paint, restoration carpenter Jan Kuperus said to Het Parool.

Superb replica of a VOC ship. Very much in the right place at the Maritime Museum.

Boat was pretty cool. Quite interesting to see how small the living quarters were. Would be good if there was more interactive things on the ship. The VR experience was quite good. It'd also be nice if the security knew a little bit about the boat to answer questions. Or put a staff member up on the boat.

a nice copy of ship from times when everything was driven by the wind. But if you are over 170cm take care of your head.

Amazing experience! First time in a ship like that! The entrance fee is included to the general ticket price. In the middle deck there is a room offering a VR experience, depicting the canals of Amsterdam at the golden era, 16 with 17 century. Not to mention the various activities that someone can do around the ship.
