Read the reviews and you will have no surprises going into this place. I thought it was quite well done. Suggestions would be to have more mannequins in the various torture devices, and (maybe they do this already?) it would make a perfect haunted house during Halloween.

Disappointed given that we paid 7.5€ for the museum.. No extraordinary display of apparatus or items.. It was quite cramped and narrow but did showcase some old equipments.. Some pictures in the wall were not that clear and I felt the place itself was ill lit.. You will walk through the place in less than 25 minutes.. If the price was 3 or 4€ it may have justified the experience..

One of the easiest ways to torture victims in medieval Amsterdam would have been taking them to this "museum". Essentially it is around 1 full a4 piece of papers worth of information a child wouldn't pass his history project with. Give it a miss. Spend an extra 10 euros in Mr K.

A small yet interesting museum. It had a lot of torture devices on display with descriptions on the side. Would have loved it more if the place was bigger and displays were more lighted and appreciated. It is different from all the big curated museums but worth the low price.

Entry is relatively cheap, me and my buddy enjoyed our time going through this museum. It took us about 30 minutes and we enjoyed reading all the information panels and examining the different objects for torture. It's not the most amazing or strangest museum I have ever been to but this place doesn't claim to be either. It is a great little museum that we discovered while exploring Amsterdam.
