We had a great time staying at the Toren. The front staff were great and helped us with reservations and recommendations. They were very personable. The bar area is warm and relaxing. The hotel is easy walking distance to all of the area attractions and shopping.

First off, location. Excellent. You can walk to all the main sites (most within 30mins). Lots of restaurants, cafes and stores around as well. The staff were great. All very polite, helpful, spoke English very well (generally the case all over Amsterdam). The room was nice. It's a bit tight, but that's typical for Europe. Some of the toiletries were open and used. And we found a used tea bag inside the water boiler. Granted, those were not intentionally left, but that's where attention to detail kicks in. Breakfast was tasty. Way more variety and options than other hotels I've stayed in. I did however come across 2 dirty plates at the buffet, each on different days. When I pointed it out the staff immediately apologized and removed them. In the end, even though it didn't really meet my expectations (given the price), I gotta be honest, we had a good time.
