The old football canteen of sports park 'Melkweg' has been transformed into a unique restaurant with an amazing terrace. This hidden gem, located in the Northern part of Amsterdam, is much more than just a regular pancake house. At STROOP (rhymes with "rope") you can eat an environmentally friendly dish in a cozy and pleasant atmosphere, away from the crowded city-centre. STROOP is part of the urban farming project NoordOogst. NoordOogst connects neighbours, entrepreneurs, volunteers, and other interested people with regard to sustainable food production. It is a place where living, working, learning, playing, and eating come together. You can find more information at the website. What is served at STROOP comes from our own soil as much as possible. The bacon on your pancake is from Buitengewone Varkens —free range pigs—who live in the field next to STROOP. We grow vegetables in the vegetable patches and we take into account what the current season has to offer us. CUISINES Dutch, International, European. Approx cost for two people Rs 1,100

Family friend, the restaurant has such a nice atmosphere. The Staff is very friendly and the food is good. I love the biological concept. It's a nice place to visit in the winter and even better in the summer as they have a nice, sunny and spacious terrace.

Absolutely lovely restaurant. Run by lovers of life and the world. Great food. Easy atmosphere. During the week it's very quiet in winter. In the weekends you'll find a lively atmosphere. In summer there's an absolutely fantastic play area outside for kids.

Great place to have pancakes - not very cheap, but a nice experience with a pretty area for walks (with piglets, chickens and other childfriendly amusements) surrounding it.

We visited for lunch with our toddler. The pancakes are tasty and the staff friendly! They have a kids corner inside and lots of play area outside. Terrace looks great too. Everything is locally sourced, even the beers which are also tasty
