This traditional Dutch pub on the Herengracht is the place to get acquainted with local tipples. Serving only Dutch beers from more than 50 breweries in the Netherlands plus more than 100 bottled beers, the pub is the ideal place to learn all about local beer. the staff are always happy to share their extensive knowledge of local beers and breweries, but if you wish to taste your way around the Netherlands in one sitting then the basement tasting room or ‘proeflokkal’ is the perfect place, hosting beer tasting events for groups of up to 32 people. Fantastic variety of beers on tap - about 50, ranging from blond to IPA to stouts. Barmen were knowledgeable and friendly. Was here 2 nights of a 3 night stay in Amsterdam. Will definitely be back the next time I'm there!

Awesome brown café with lots of history oozing from every wall and corner. Although bartenders are nice guys, the whole place doesn't look very warm and welcome, the seating is very limited, and the crowd is mostly expats out tourists - important to consider since this is a very Dutch "pub". Long list of Dutch and Belgian beers which the bartenders are very knowledgeable about and happy to let you try before committing, and very tasty!

Great place! Looks cool and has the best beer. Since it was after the holidays, they didn't have much food left but scrounged up what they could and we thoroughly enjoyed it with the best beers! The bartender was very helpful discussing beer and food options with us throughout our time there.

Busy place yet still impeccable service. Awesome selection of beers on tap and the staff are knowledgeable on them. Helped me pick out two beers I absolutely loved. Didn't have time to delve into the cheese/meat offerings but hoping there will be time in my trip to visit again!

Great selection of Dutch beers. Amazing bartenders. Good place to go if you're from the states visiting and are interested in craft beer
