A beautiful range of fancy rooms and kitchens, with a good audio guide to learn about the family. It was definitely worth visiting. Maybe don't go the same day as the palace.

Museum Van Loon is a museum located in a canalside house alongside the Keizersgracht in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The museum is named after the family Van Loon that lived in the house from the 19th century. The canal house where the museum resides was built in 1672, and served as the home of artist Ferdinand Bol. From 1884 to 1945 the Van Loons lived in the house. Thora van Loon-Egidius, who lived in the house, was a lady-in-waiting for Wilhelmina of the Netherlands.

I love to visit this kind of house/museum, to discover and see how wealthy people lived in the past. The decoration of this one is really atypical, I spent nearly an hour and half here to admire the house's rooms. On the other side of the garden there is an exhibition about slavery. Very interesting, I learnt a lot.

Really great place to visit. Gives so much history and overview of the royal family and how the wealthy people lived in Amsterdam. The house is truly stunning and the royal family still reside on the top two floors which is nice as the house to an extent is still funny functioning

Lovely old home on the canal which gives you an insight on how it was in a rich family. This home is beautiful but what i missed was more insight about the family. And more explanation about all the portraits hanging there and to know who is who in the family. They have a huge collection but i did not get as much info as when i visited the Willet-Holthuysen house. Also i did not see storage nor were we offered any audio tour.

A nice place to visit the history of the Van Loon family. If you have an amsterdam pass than this place is free to visit. It usually take about an hour to read and see through everything. Make sure you go to the garden in the back and there is also a cafe below the house.
