Café Alto, a jazz café located near Leidseplein, is definitely an Amsterdam favorite. This cozy little café has some of the best jazz music around. Alto offers live music every single night. Therefore, it doesn't matter if you're looking to relax one evening after work or go out for a bit of Friday night fun. It is the perfect place to tap your fingers and move to the music. Café Alto always promises a good time. The space is small, though, so it may be crowded and difficult to find a seat near the stage. Make sure to arrive early. The doors open at 9 p.m. Jazz Clubs & Bars. Approx cost for two people Rs 1300

Absolute must go! No comparison to any other "jazz café" I've been to so far: the musicians who perform here, are real talents, making really beautiful music. Friendly and easy going atmosphere for a great evening. Do not expect high-class location in terms of drinks and interior, but expect amazing memories of real music from people who love and definitely know what they are doing. The session starts at 21:00 every evening, the entrance is free. The location is not really large, be sure to come in time to get a sit, and enjoy

Authentic jazz in the center of Amsterdam. The entrance is an obstacle that will work well for some people and less so for others. I personally prefer a free entrance, but the drink selection and music there was very good.

Live music, old fashioned interior, nice employees - and a good coffee! Really nice to sit together with your friends of you like jazz music.

Cozy place with a lot of personality. Amazing musicians and great acoustics. On weekends gets full super fast so get there early.
