Wonderful quirky rooms the wall has extracts from artist and are extremely entertaining as well as a useful guide! Staff are exceptionally helpful and accommodating especially when our flight was cancelled and we needed extra night. Food expensive but there are lots of cafe's and restaurants close by. Very enjoyable experience and would definitely stay again hence 5stars.

After travelling around eastern Europe this hotel was a breath of fresh air. It's such a unique vibe and design it actually makes you appreciate the history of the building. A real shake up of the hotel industry and fantastic to see a hotel have it's own character and personality. Other companies could learn from this group. Fantastic rooms and facilities supported with friendly customer service and amazing food and drinks.

The location is excellent and allows you to walk to anywhere in central Amsterdam. The hotel is stylish, rooms are clean and very modern. Service is friendly and attentive. My only issue was the size of the rooms, which are probably no more than 20 square metres.

It all began in 1904 when the building which now houses the hotel became the base of the Dutch newspaper “Tijd”. It was a place where stories were born, written and ultimately printed. This former use of the premises also explains the name of the hotel.

This hotel is brilliant, it's clean and smart. Very modern looks with great rooms. It seems a little bit expensive at first but it's worth it when you get to your room. The bar/restaurant staff are very polite and friendly, and the prices are reasonable. 10/10 would go again.
