The Huis met de Kabouters is a 19th-century building in Amsterdam, so named because the facade is decorated with two figures of gnomes. The building has held rijksmonument status since 1984. The house is at Ceintuurbaan 251-255 in the De Pijp district, near the Nieuwe Amstelbrug bridge across the river Amstel.

Impressive facade, hidden behind a massive tree, but the interesting bits are still quite visible from certain angles. I loved the two gnomes sitting on top of the building and tossing a ball back and forth. Lovely encounter.

An unexpected architectural jem in Amsterdam. Take a walk in Sarphatipark near here and complete the exploration of the area going to the Albert Cuyp Market near there.

I do not know if you can go inside the house. The facade of the house is very nice. Worth a look if you are walking nearby.
