If I could give more stars, I would! This hotel is simply THE BEST! The staff are super attentive - they go above and beyond to make each and every guest feel special. My husband proposed to me here, and one year later we had our civil marriage ceremony here with our Dutch and American family members. Everybody enjoyed the experience so much. We felt like royalty the entire time. Also, the bed is so comfortable - it felt like we were sleeping on a soft cloud. We will return many more times! We truly love this hotel.

Possibly the best hotel we have ever stayed at anywhere in the world. The experience was unparalleled. From the warmth and attention given to us by head butler Mauricio, to the assistance provided by concierges Niels and Jonathan, to the hospitality of Luca in the restaurant, our experience at Sofitel The Grand Amsterdam was exceptional. The hotel itself is beautiful, historic, and well worth it, but the staff will make your stay magical. We cannot wait until we get the opportunity to stay there again. What an absolute GEM of a property.

It hardly gets better than this: The Legend is a legend in every sense. We had excellent food at breakfast, catering for every taste and diet, we enjoyed the spa and the staff went above and beyond to help us whenever we needed. Definitely excellent and beautifully decorated hotel that will make your stay unforgettable.

One of those truly amazing hotels, you can never get enough of. Centrally located, this historic hotel, the former city hall until the 1970’s (this was explained so passionately by Guest Relations Manager Michael) is not only an island of calm and refinement in the bustling neighborhood, it is a haven of hospitality, warmth, friendliness and great food (Bridges Restaurant). Not to forget the super Martinis we were served by the bartender who is another icon in this legendary hotel. I had the pleasure of staying in one of the beautifully appointed new hotel rooms - an elegant merge of classic, hints of local flair and all the modernity you expect from a luxury hotel in the heart of Amsterdam. Thank you Sofitel Legend Amsterdam for a wonderful stay - I will be back, and those of you who have not decided - seek no further. You have found your home away from home. A last hint for the travelers: ask to see the historic city council rooms on the first floor. Simply amazing!

Magnificent hotel. Large rooms, friendly and helpful staff along with nice dining options. We were celebrating and the staff went out of their way with little extras that made the stay even better.
